Main access to Fogo Island is via ferry which runs between a terminal called Farewell on the main island portion of the province and the Man o' War Cove terminal on Fogo Island. The local ferry schedule is available through  the provincial Department of Works, Services and Transportation at  

Intra-Provincial Ferry Schedule - Fogo Island to Farewell

The normal ferry service is provided by the MV Captain Earl W. Winsor. This modern conveyance is able to handle between 50 and 60 regular vehicles, over 250 passengers, and is also large enough for several transport trucks. The Winsor is close to 250 feet in length and its displacement load is some 2,100 tons.

The Farewell ferry terminal in approximately an hour's drive from the Trans Canada Highway and the crossing to Fogo Island is only 45 minutes. Many visitors comment on the ferry ride itself as being one of the highlights of their trip to Fogo Island.  Outstanding scenery including various smaller islands, beaches and sometimes ocean life may be viewed along the way. Once on Fogo Island, the Town of Fogo is only a 20-minute drive from the local terminal.
