Welcome,
It is with much pride that I
welcome you to Fogo, Newfoundland, Canada.
Fogo is
a small out port on Fogo Island with a population of
approximately 800. We have
a fascinating history which goes back to the early 1700's.
Founded on the fish and seal trade, we still maintain our close
ties to the sea.
Our well-known landmark,
Brimstone Head, is considered one of the
Four Corners of the Earth. Other
attractions enjoyed by visitors from around the world include
the Bleak House Museum, the Old School House Museum, and Lions Den
Trail. One of the first Marconi wireless stations was built here
in 1912.
The Brimstone Head Folk Festival,
held during August, highlights our local musical talent and is
enjoyed by one and all.
Come to Fogo and
see what a picturesque, peaceful, and friendly place it is.
Sincerely,
Andrew
