Fogo
Volunteer Fire Department
The Town of Fogo is blessed with having a
very dedicated Fire
Department. Along with a new pumper truck
in 2002, the Fire Department purchased a new cube rescue van providing the
volunteers with a full compliment of
equipment for rapid response. At present
there are 20 volunteers
registered with the Fire Department. They
spend numerous hours training and keeping the
equipment in top working condition. The Fire
Department members of Fogo are to be
commended for their efforts.

The
Fogo Harbour Lions Club
The club has been greatly involved in health care and have
contributed many thousands of dollars to the health
foundation. In the field of education the club provides a
scholarship
program, sponsors the D.A.R.E program and becomes actively
involved in safe grad, financially and by providing many hours of
volunteer work.
The club has always been a great supporter of
the youth and sponsored the girl guides, scouts and cadet
movements for many years. We are also a good supporter of
minor hockey.
We have a good relationship with the Fogo
Town Council and the Fogo Volunteer Fire Department and we meet on
a regular basis to discuss things that pertain to our Community.
The Fogo Harbour Lion's Club wishes to thank
everyone on Fogo Island who contributed to our success over the
years and we wish everyone a safe and happy 2009.
