Fogo's Town Council has been in existence for 60 years.  During this period major improvements have been made and at present, local services are comparable to most communities throughout the province. 

The town is served by a seven-member Council and has a number of full-time employees.  A 22-member volunteer fire department has been serving Fogo since 1972 and is equipped with a  pumper vehicle and rescue vehicle plus additional rescue and fire fighting apparatus.

Town Mayor

Andrew Shea - Mayor Shea has been on Council since the last general municipal election and he has served terms on council in the past.  He has been an educator on Fogo Island for 30 years and he is now retired.

Town Clerk

Patrick Donahue -  Mr. Donahue was hired as new Town Clerk on July 16th, 2008.  He worked as a Teacher on Fogo Island  for 32 years.

Assistant Town Clerk

Tracy Torraville  - Mrs. Torraville has been working for the Fogo Town Council for close to eight years. She has completed courses in Legal Secretarial Studies and  Banking and Financing.
